Dressing for the festive season in Australia is very different to anywhere else in the world. Thankfully we are blessed with incredible weather and the opportunity to enjoy the festive season outside! Because of this, when it comes to what I am wearing for work Christmas parties and celebrations, I always want to be dressed in something cool, casual and comfortable. I never go to too much fuss during Christmas, and instead opt to just add a bit of extra colour to my wardrobe to make it a bit more festive!
As Spencer Outlet Centre’s Style Ambassador, I was given the opportunity to create a few Christmas party/celebration inspired looks using pieces and accessories only found at Spencer Outlet Centre. Thankfully the Centre has a huge selection of amazing retailers, making it super easy to create outfits that work for the festive season!
The first look I created is perfect for a Christmas brunch/lunch or picnic with friends. I mixed different shades of burgundy and red to create a fun and colourful take on ‘festive dressing’. I particularly love the velvet hair-scrunchie detailing available from Supre!
The second look is slightly dressier and is perfect for a long Christmas lunch or dinner and drinks that go on into the afternoon/evening. This look is a touch more classic in monochrome and perhaps more versatile in where you could wear it. The sleeve provides some warmth in the unlikely event it gets cooler in the afternoon and the boots make the look feel more dressed up. You could also sub the boots in for sneakers if you wanted to feel more casual, or heels if you wanted to create a more evening look!
The third look is a super playful take on festive dressing, adding any kind of green or red to a look always makes me think of Christmas and this look is no exception. This dress is perfect for an evening Christmas party with friends or a night out on the town during the silly season! It could even be the perfect New Year’s Eve look as it is the kind of statement-making dress one would wear to bring in a new year! The belt gives the dress some dimension and shape, which I love but for evening I would probably add a leather jacket or denim jacket on top of it too!
