Believe in Bargains Blog: Autumn 2020

By Jess Alizzi @jessalizzi

For me, dressing for the fashion festival is mainly about putting together outfits that I love and feel really comfortable in. This often means picking out pieces I already have in my wardrobe and integrating new season trends to make it feel fresh and a little bit different.

As Spencer Outlet Centre’s Style Ambassador, I was given the opportunity to create a few fashion festival inspired looks and discuss some of the trends to watch over the coming seasons.

The first look I created is perfect for the daytime events I often attend around and during the fashion festival. With Melbourne’s weather unpredictable as it is, I often find wearing outfits that suit any season work best. I manage the changing weather by adding or taking off a jacket throughout the day. I like to feel comfortable and wear something that looks elevated but still chic and simple. A key trend here is the belt bag. It is something that we have been seeing for a few seasons now and doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon! I got this one from TK Maxx.

The second look I created would be perfect for one of the more casual runway shows. A big trend this season is the ‘cosy trend’, where heading out in the most oversized, cosy sweats, paired back with a chic bag and accessories is the ideal outfit for any occasion. This is particularly perfect as we start rolling into cooler weather too! I love this super oversized top from Glassons and paired with the cap it is the ultimate laidback look.

The third look I created is an edgy nighttime look. A key trend for the season is backless tops so I opted to pair this back with masculine style black trousers and chunky combat boots. I love monochrome looks and particularly love wearing either all white or all black but mixing the two together always looks classic too!
